BEND, OR – Howard Friedman, CCIM, of Compass Commercial Real Estate Services and Ken Streater, CCIM of ARIS Group, were presented the 2012 Transaction of the Year Award at the Commercial Investment Division (CID) of the Central Oregon Association of REALTORS® (COAR) annual presentation. This is the first time a Co-Transaction of the Year award was given to two separate realtors. The sale that was involved was the former Mexicali Rose location on the corner of Hwy 97/3rd Street and Franklin Avenue that is now home to Central Oregon Audiology.
The primary factors for choosing the award recipients were based upon what the COAR/CID designee brought to the transaction, i.e. his/her creativity, professional skills, integrity, perseverance, etc., and the value of the transaction to the community. In other words: a) What were the issues and how did they overcome them in order to successfully close the transaction? b) What did they bring to the transaction that deserved of the award? c) How was this transaction beneficial to the community in which the property was located?
Friedman represented the seller of the property and Streater represented the buyer. The transaction closed in February of 2012, after being on the market for over 6 years.
