Compass Commercial, a leading provider of commercial real estate services in Central Oregon, today announced the launch of its new Tenant Portal that provides greater efficiency of operations and enhanced services to the company’s Asset & Property Management clients.
The Tenant Portal is one example of the benefits Compass Commercial is passing on to clients after transitioning to a new cloud-based software platform. Property owner clients, tenants and property management staff will experience greater transparency in their communication, as well as reduction in time spent organizing and coordinating the activities involved in managing property.
“We have been reviewing numerous options to upgrade our systems and we believe we have finally found the most efficient solution that integrates our needs with the needs of our clients,” said John Keba, VP Asset & Property Management. “The technology of cloud-based computing gives our property managers improved mobility to get them out in the field where they can better observe and report activity at our clients’ properties while rent collection, owner reporting and maintenance requests can be managed online,” said Keba.
Previously, when tenant rents were due, the team’s accounting staff would process numerous payments through the mail, but the new software integration moves the payment process online.
“Tenants can now pay rent through the portal on our website and we can continue to pay our owner clients directly to their bank account using ACH,” said Susan Gibbons, staff accountant. “The software ties into our accounting system and streamlines the whole data entry process while giving owners and tenants greater flexibility for processing rent.”
Once provided with a unique portal login, tenants have the ability to track the progress of maintenance requests online while property owner clients can watch the management process, from the initial call through to resolution.
“Our intention is for there to be less room for miscommunication or duplication, to have greater transparency and to offer our property owner clients the potential for higher profit margins resulting from reduced expenses mitigated by the software,” said Keba.
