Howard is a former partner and president of Compass Commercial. Howard enjoys helping his closely-held client relationships, family businesses and a broad range of investors to navigate complex commercial real estate negotiations and advise his clients on how to maximize the value of their properties. Howard joined Compass Commercial in 1999, with over 25 years of business ownership, including restaurant business management. This expertise allows him to provide clients with a seasoned perspective on the retail and restaurant industry. Howard uses his business background and knowledge of the region to assist clients in the leasing and sales of retail and industrial properties as well as land sales, investment properties and owner/user opportunities. Howard is dedicated to giving back to the Central Oregon community through his various volunteering positions. One of his greatest passions is preparing and serving food monthly at Bethlehem Inn in Bend, where he also serves on the Board of Directors and served as a Facilities Committee Member. He is a Retired Coach for Mt. Bachelor Sports Education Foundation (MBSEF) and the current president of the Board of Directors. Howard was also a former Broker of Record for OSU-Cascades Real Estate Consulting Group. Howard’s service to the community does not go unnoticed. In 2023, he earned the NAR National Commercial Award for his exceptional contributions to the commercial real estate industry and the OREA Good Neighbor Award for his philanthropic endeavors at Bethlehem Inn. His dedication to Bethlehem Inn was further acknowledged in 2022 as the first runner-up for the Oregon Realtors Good Neighbor Award, and in 2021 when he was a Pay it Forward Winner.
