As the Vice President of Asset and Property Management, Russ Monroe spearheads Compass Commercial’s property management division, ensuring owners and tenants receive quality asset and property management services. With over 17 years of experience in commercial property management, specializing in Class A retail and shopping centers, Russ brings a wealth of expertise to his role while maintaining a “make it happen” approach to challenges to deliver results.

Russ has significantly contributed to the property management department’s growth and success. Under his leadership, the portfolio of managed commercial properties has seen significant expansion. Notably, the team extended its reach in 2024 into the Portland, OR area, thus expanding the portfolio by nearly 10% in one year. Russ has been instrumental in developing the Asset and Property Management team, fostering a culture of professionalism, and building a solid foundation for future growth.

Russ has distinguished himself as an expert in the commercial property management industry. Before joining Compass, Russ successfully managed 4.5 million square feet of high profile commercial properties throughout the U.S. with a total market value of $750 million. While building his organizational skills, he managed multiple commercial properties throughout the country for his previous company based out of California. Russ is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and holds a Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM) designation, and is a Certified Property Manager (CPM®).
